If you need to install a roof hatch cover over an existing curb, or replacing an existing roof hatch cover, then the Babcock Davis Retrofit Roof Hatch Cover is a perfect solution. You can use them to replace an old, damaged cover without having to tear out the exiting curb. This can save a ton on labor and material costs over installing a full standard unit you have to re-flash into the roof system. These retrofit covers are available in four standard sizes in steel, aluminum and Thermally Broken material types. One of the best features we should mention about these units is the ability to support a standard sized railing system by both Babcock Davis, or Bilco. Custom sizes may also be available per request.

Specifications

• Materials – Mill finish 11 gauge aluminum, red oxide powder coated steel, stainless steel (mill finish stainless steel or optional powder coat finishes available per quote request)
• Cover – Formed metal cover with liner, stiffened to withstand live load of 40psf with a max deflection of 1/150th the span
• Curb – 4″ tall curb with SST mounting clips
• Insulation – 1″ insulation in curb and cover, or 3″ for Thermally Broken models (achieves R-6 value for aluminum units and R-20 for Thermally Broken)
• Gasket – Continuous extruded EPDM adhesive-backed gasket seal around cover
• Hold-Open Arm – Zinc-plated steel with red handle. Locks cover in open position while entering or exiting roof
• Latch – Zinc-plated steel latch with exterior and inter turn handles and padlock hasps
• Spring – Gas-spring with damper & coil type spring in telescopic tubes for smooth controlled lift assistance
• Hinge – Heavy-duty pintle hinge with stainless steel hinge pin
• Pull Handle – Interior safety pull down handle with yellow powder coat finish
